The current version 2.7.6 of Vehicle Simulator also runs well under Wine. While the old versions of Virtual Sailor used to run without problems under Wine, see.

But when I click at one of these menu items to the left, the program freezes completely and must be forced to close.

After installing I run this program and the main screen appears after clicking onto the 'Try the program >'. In Linux Mint 20.2 Xfce edition I have installed a demo version of Virtual Sailor NG 8.2 in a 64-bit Wine bottle, version is Wine 6.0.1.
